The stone staircase winds its way up towards the outer
castle wall using right angle turns and beautifully arching
over the lower floorspace
to create an interesting vertical
design. The castle keep is circular in shape and affects
all of the building and walls with a slight angle twist,
while the middle landing of the
staircase branches off into
a small courtyard creating an alternative route to the
ramparts.
